Written security program
Cove maintains a written information security program designed to safeguard client information and reduce risks related to unauthorized access, use or disclosure. The program is reviewed periodically as technology, regulation and firm operations change.
Secure document exchange
Sensitive tax, identity and financial records should be exchanged through the Cove client portal or another approved secure method. Do not send Social Security numbers, complete tax documents, passwords or similar information through ordinary email.

Document retention
Cove generally retains completed returns, filings, relevant workpapers, engagement records and related compliance documentation for at least seven years, subject to applicable requirements and the engagement terms. Clients remain responsible for promptly downloading and maintaining their own complete records.
Incident response
Cove maintains procedures to investigate, contain and respond to suspected security incidents and to provide notifications when required by applicable law.
Shared responsibility
